Antonio GarciaAntonio Garcia has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer for Community Hospital of Huntington Park effective Dec. 2.

Hospital CEO Hector Hernandez announced the appointment Nov. 25.

“Tony brings to Pipeline Health vast experience as a CNO, leading not only a diverse array of nursing units, but also a variety of ancillary departments,” Hernandez wrote in a memo to employees and medical staff.

“He will be an asset to Community Hospital of Huntington Park, Pipeline Health as a whole, and the communities we serve.

Garcia has served as CNO at several different hospitals, including:

  • West Anaheim Medical Center, where he has served as CNO over the last few months;
  • Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida (2022 to 2023);
  • MemorialCare Health System, Long Beach (2018 to 2022);
  • Emanuel Medical Center, Turlock, California (2018); and
  • Doctors Hospital of Manteca, Manteca, California (2016 to 2018).

At Kaiser Permanente’s San Jose Medical Center, Garcia served four years as Service Director for a 29-bed Emergency Department and Urgent Care facility, serving patients in more than 63,000 visits annually.

“At this point in my career, I am looking for a place where I can truly make a difference in the lives of those members of our communities who are most vulnerable,” Garcia said. “Community Hospital of Huntington Park is the ideal place for this mission. I am truly excited about elevating the care that we provide for our patients and taking the hospital to the next level.”

He has been a champion for the patient experience, while advocating and ensuring that patients receive the safest care of the highest quality. He has demonstrated fiscal responsibility and good stewardship of organizational finances and resources, and he possesses a thorough understanding of California Title 22, CMS regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation program.

Garcia holds a master’s of science degree in nursing administration as well as a bachelor’s of science degree, both from the University of Houston. He is proficient in Spanish, and he holds several state and national nursing certifications.
